Something’s Fishy! Anti-Microbial Deodorizing Spray

What is that stink?

Here at Fishing Tackle Insider, we are all avid fisherman and outdoorsman. We like to get down in the trenches and get dirty, or bloody. Wherever we end up, we usually end up pretty stinky.

As we head into summer, the squid are appearing around our local islands here in Southern California. And with that comes the stink. There really is no way getting around it, as if you fish with squid, and most live baits for that matter, you usually end up smelling pretty ripe at the end of the day. I first bumped into the Something’s Fishy booth up at the ISE Sacramento show in January. We spoke a bit and he gave me a couple of bottles to try out. I didn’t want to write about this product just to write about it, but wanted to get some use out of it to see what the stench is all about.

What is Something’s Fishy?

In short, Something’s Fishy EXTREME Multi-purpose deodorizer. Really, that’s it. No fancy gimmicks, just a product that works.

At that ISE Show, Brandon walked me through how he created and came up with the idea for Something’s Fishy. I liked the idea and told him I’d be happy to try it out. He handed me two bottles and I was on my way.

Packaging

Something’s Fishy comes in a very simple bottle packaging. It consists of a 60ml blue plastic bottle with the label. Really that’s it. Something you can grab right off the shelf of your favorite tackle shop or landing.

The bottle has a standard clear plastic cap with a pump.

But how does it work?

It works great…thank you! Actually, I was pretty surprised by how well it did work. I tried both scents, Citrus and Tropical and they nearly took all the stink away instantly. A couple of quick sprays, rub your hands together and you are good to go.

I tried the sprays after using squid and letting it dry a bit on my hands, fish fillets as well as just simply working in the garden. All were no problem at all.

Something’s Fishy didn’t leave an oily feel or any residue whatsoever.

One of the really nice things about Something’s Fishy is that it is Alcohol Free, Paraben Free and Chlorine Free. They tout themselves as being completely natural.

Distilled Water, Witch Hazel, Citric Acid, Sodium Olivate, Musa Sapientum Extract, Sodium Citrate, Propanediol, Pure Essential Oils.

It is also Made in the USA.

Overall, we have enjoyed our samples of Something’s Fishy spray. It is certainly nice to feel clean and fresh when getting off the water.
