FishLab Proving Grounds Online Event via the Fishing Chaos App

FishLab Tackle, maker of some pretty incredible swimbaits and soft baits, recently announced an online tournament series called the FishLab Proving Grounds and is dedicated to all fisherman around the country. This online tournament is all done via the Fishing Chaos app.

This is a nationwide event, that covers multiple species of fish. It is an aggregate length event, with some specific minimums or slots for certain fish. It really sounds like a lot of fun.

Fishing Tackle Insider reached out to FishLab for comment on the event.

“We are very excited to get the FishLab Proving Grounds tournament kicked off. This has been in the works for quite some time, and is something we have wanted to do since we launched the brand,” states Dave Brown – Sr. Marketing Specialist “We hope we get some good participatation in the event so that we can do more and more of events like this. With the world still in somewhat of a virtual state, we felt the online, nationwide event was a great idea to get participation from coast to coast.”

When is the FishLab Proving Grounds Tournament Happening?

The FishLab Proving Grounds event starts on Feb 15 and runs through the end of June. You sign up and start submitting your fish as soon as you get the display code. The app will keep track of your three biggest fish.

What Can I win?

This looks to be a prize based event. It is FREE to enter, so no cost to you. As far as prizes go, doing a little math, FishLab is giving away over $6,500 in prize packages. Each species will give away prize packages for the top three finishers for the event. $500 for 1st, $250 for 2nd and $100 for 3rd. Pretty nice! Oh, and there is also a $500 kicker for the biggest fish in each species category over the course of the event.

What Should I Be Fishing For?

The FishLab Proving Grounds tournamnet is based around 5 individual species. Black Bass, Walleye, Perch, Redfish and Striped Bass. There are prizes for each category.

Keep entering your fish throughout the event and your top fish will automatically be bumped to the top. If you have an 18″, 17″, 22″ and 14″ bass, your total will be 57″ for the event. Keep entering fish as you may have a bigger one later in the months.

Bonus Raffle?

FishLab is also providing a bonus raffle for the event. If there is any FishLab item in your submission picture, FishLab will be doing a random raffle for those people monthly. Why not through a hat, bait, or other FishLab item in the pic for more free prizes? The fish doesn’t have to be caught on the FishLab product, just shown in the submission pic.

Be Sure Your Submission is Legal and Accepted

The one thing I did notice in the rules was that your fish has to be measured on a rigid measuring device. Here are a couple of accepted measuring devices. Not reason to get your submission denied.
